Guatever it takes

We are in Guatemala to spend the week at Hogar Miguel Magone and the village of Aguacate. The reason I am here is to help people in need and not think about myself. Today we put a concrete floor in a house. The reason we did this was because the people in the house have to sleep on a dirt floor. It is not good for them to sleep on a dirt floor because parasites can crawl on them and eat their nutrients. It is very dirty and unhealthy. While I was doing the floors, I realized how much I take advantage of what I have. At the end of doing the floor it made me so happy to see how happy they were and how I made a difference in someone's life. After we did the floor we went to the girls' orphanage. There, we ate a delicious meal prepared by the ladies that work there. After lunch, we prepared for VBS (Vacation Bible School). At VBS we sang songs, told a bible story about Jesus and did crafts. The songs we sing have fun dances to them and all the kids at VBS love it. We have little snacks and crafts that relate to the story for the kids each day. It was hard to say goodbye at the end of the day.
