7/4/17: Concrete

Updated: Apr 30, 2018

Today about 15 of use woke up bright and early at 5:45 to hike up to the cross on the hill and soak in the spectacular view. When we were done at the cross we walked back to the hotel to have a meal before we made our way to the orphanage and village. When we got to our destination, we broke off into our specific groups. My group was put in charge of doing two concrete floors in the village. So as we start to work on the first floor we realize that the dirt that the concrete had to be put was not level. So we had to shovel and haul about 30 wheel barrows full of dirt up to the house we were working on. Then about two hours later we were finally ready to mix and set the concrete. After we finished the first floor we had to bring all of the tool we had to the next house and finish that concrete floor which ran smoothly and was finished in under about two hours. Finally, we took the bus back to the hotel so we can take the night off and go to a restaurant in the town of Antigua. After dinner we finished the day off at the hotel with an exciting worship service.
